The Plants
- The Animals were very different and many of them are ancestors of present-day animals
- The geographic climate was warming up from previous periods in earth's history and the continents were arranged differently than they are today
The Geology of the Earth
- The continents that we know today were all apart of one super-continent at the bottom of the earth known as "Gondwana"
- This allowed animals of the earth to be able to roam from place to place without having to cross water or swim
- The idea of "plate tectonics" was brought to existence by Alfred Wegener in the 1900s
- This idea shaped the way that scientists though about earth history
The Plants
- Many plants were finally able to adapt to living on land
- Some of the plants were mosses and other primitive plants
